Needle Felting Class

Took a bit longer than I hoped... but I finally did it! I prepared a full class on needle felting a face and I'm really quite proud of it to be honest :) I put a lot of heart into making it as detailed and at the same time as compact as possible to make it easy-to-follow.

You can get it with 10% discount till the end of March with a coupon code >>FELTINGCLASS<< on Etsy (<- click :)

Zarkgnotte and Ophellious

About this time last year I got an email from Nichole. She's an artist herself and she came up with an idea of transforming some of her characters to 3D. Once I saw her drawings I new this was going to be a fun project ;)

Take a look...

Meet Zarkgnotte (who she described as blue bunny monster thing) and Ophellious. We brainstormed over our ideas on bringing them to life and after some ferocious needle felting they were ready...

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to create something that was only alive in someones head just a couple of days before! The first thing that immediately came to my head when I got this request was this amazing project --> CLICK

Needle felting can make this happen too you know ;) Any childhood fantasy creatures you would like to see coming to life? :)

Sculpting Vacation

I've been waiting the whole year for this vacation and finally it happened! And it wasn't even about traveling the world (which is still on the list of course :) but about hard work!
I spent this time in a tiny little village in the most beautiful, breathtaking surroundings and the whole time I was there, I spent in the workshop of a wonderful local folk sculptor working in wood, who was amazing enough to let me work with him.

I had an idea of a sleepy girl tangled in her red hair, the concept was pretty simple...

With some work...
...some paint...
...and some patience...
...she came to life - beautiful, tranquil and... with birds in her hair :)

I had no idea about the amount and intensity of work needed to put into this little lady, but she makes me really proud and... well, of course I will needle felt her as well! ;)

Hugo as a boy

A few days ago I found Hugo's picture from when he was a student at The Gnome School of Botanical Studies many years ago - isn't that a piece of history ;)

So yesterday we took a trip to my parents' garden, the same spot where this picture was taken, so he could spend some time in his favorite kind of surrounding, collect some plant samples and play around in the garden jungle... Ok, I'm obviously making this up, but if he came to life, he'd be the most adorable gnome of them all :)
